Football Tickets Rome has been online since back in 2006, when ticket marketplace websites were unheard of and the only place to get tickets for football in Rome was from Football Encounters or Roma Lazio. We ordered some derby tickets from Roma Lazio as they are based in Rome and seemed to know the score about the Curva Nord, where we sat or rather stood for about £35 each. We've used Roma Lazio a few times since then for 'difficult' matches, namely Napoli in 2007 when they walked us through the Curva Nord gates with no checks, and Atalanta in 2009 which was restricted but they got us in anyway. Football Encounters are now trading as 'Tickazilla' (see below).
While Roma Lazio are still going strong, the availability of Roma tickets and Lazio tickets online has gone through the roof in the last 5 or 6 years. There are literally hundreds of websites offering tickets for football or soccer in Rome and more or less everywhere else, particularly Spain and Gemany. |
Roma Lazio only accept payment by Paypal, Western Union and bank transfer. They don't take card payments on site or by telephone. This is a sticking point for some net users who prefer to pay for goods in real time by credit card with chargeback guarantees. |
This is where ticket marketplace websites come into their own. Seatwave and Viagogo invite individual resellers to register and list tickets for events in their city. They vet all resellers in a similar way to how Ebay checks new users. Payment by credit, debit card and Paypal is instant. We've booked tickets for matches in Milan and London through Seatwave and Viagogo and had no problems. Great sites selling tickets at a pretty good price, with refund policies which guarantee your money back in case of non-delivery. |
We'll be reviewing every tickets website in due course, and updating existing reviews as and when they update their content. |

Tickazilla >> began life selling AS Roma and SS Lazio tickets before anyone else as the extraterrestrially named 'Football Encounters', managed at the time by Daryl Read from Beverley near Hull. His webmaster was a friend or cousin in Australia. Tickazilla has since become an all-in-one tickets and travel shop. The space they used to allocate to football has been taken over by the more lucrative business of selling hotel space. Tickazilla is easy enough to navigate if you have time to kill, so we're going to recommend two popular ticket marketplace websites instead, which both offer cheaper tickets, better navigation, and have offices in Italy in case of last minute changes. Seatwave or Viagogo fit the bill perfectly. |

Getmein! >> We bought tickets from this website for a match in Genoa a few years ago. We were asked to meet the supplier at an address near our hotel, which was fine. An hour or so after the scheduled meeting time, a friend of his turned up with our tickets. On arriving at the stadium two hours before kick off, we realized that our seats were in the away section with Roma fans. We tried to get hold of any tickets supplier in Italy and managed to reach someone at Roma Lazio. One of their contacts in Genoa arrived at the very last minute with six longside seats as originally ordered. We're still waiting for a refund from Getmein! - it's been over two years now. If they were a small or specialist website, then such a long delay might be understandable, but Getmein! are owned by Ticketmaster. Avoid. |
